Funding & Rebates

NDIS Participants

We are dedicated to supporting NDIS-funded clients who are self-managed or plan-managed. Our fee structure strictly adheres to the NDIS Price Guide, ensuring that participants receive high-quality, compliant speech pathology services tailored to their specific goals and funding requirements.

Attendance & Cancellations

To ensure all clients have equitable access to our services, we maintain a 48-hour cancellation policy. If an appointment is cancelled with less than 48 hours' notice or if a client does not attend, a fee may be charged to cover the clinician's scheduled time and preparation.

Rebates & Medicare

Some private health insurance providers offer rebates for speech pathology; please check with your insurer for your level of cover. Medicare rebates are also accessible if you have a Chronic Disease Management (CDM) plan from your GP, which can help offset the cost of your therapy sessions.

Common Questions

How do I know if we are the 'right fit'?

We are happy to have a free 10 minute chat with you to see whether we are the right Speech Pathology service for you. We know that every person is unique and our priority is making sure you receive the care that is right for you.

Where do the speech therapy sessions take place?

Services can take place online or in the community (this includes home visits, schools, and early childhood centers). This allows for therapy to happen in a natural, comfortable environment that is convenient for you.

What happens during the first appointment?

The initial consultation usually involves a discussion to get a thorough case history, and to establish goals. We may conduct standardised or non-standardised assessments to get a better picture of how the client is performing in different areas. It is important that time is taken to establish trust between the client and practitioner to gain an accurate picture of the client's capacity. This means assessment may take place over multiple sessions.

Do I need a referral to see a speech pathologist?

No, you do not need a referral to access private speech pathology services. However, a referral from your GP is required if you wish to claim Medicare rebates through a Chronic Disease Management plan.

How long does speech therapy take?

The duration of therapy varies greatly depending on the individual's needs and goals. Some clients may only need a few sessions for specific targets, while others may benefit from longer-term support.

When will a report be provided?

Reports are developed on a needs basis. After an initial assessment, an assessment report can be developed if required to aid in diagnosis or as part of an application to the NDIS, otherwise, an informal summary will be sent following the appointment. Reports can also be written on request for NDIS plan reviews or when requested by schools, e.g.  for special provisions or to support Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
